DexSorb(R) from Circul-air extractor wastewater filter
Press Release:
Introducing DEXSORB® from Circul-Air: The Next-Level Wastewater Filtration System for Fire Departments
We’re thrilled to launch a game-changing solution built specifically for fire departments: DEXSORB® by Circul-Air — a powerful PFAS filtration system designed for PPE washer-extractor wastewater.
What is DEXSORB®?
DEXSORB® is a dedicated wastewater filtration system designed to capture and remove PFAS and other high-risk contaminants before they enter sewer or septic systems. This is more than a filter—it’s a complete, compliant solution that meets evolving regulations while protecting firefighters and their communities.

Shipping, Installation & Site Considerations
Shipping System ships unassembled (vessel, media, and components) to the fire department site. Shipping costs are location-based and not included in base pricing.
Project Overview A project manager should be assigned to coordinate pre-site evaluation (recommended before purchase) and manage installation logistics. Installation & project services can be quoted separately.
Installation Site Preparation is not included: Department, Distributor, or Contractor will be responsible for site preparation and system assembly.
Designed for ease — installation should be handled by a licensed plumber or public works department.
Additional Requirements Most installations will also require a CACDT drain trough system with sump pump to manage water flow and collection.
Based on PFAS levels in Table 2 and the PFAS treatment target, the full-scale system design is shown in Figure 2 and Table 3. The design uses one vessel in PBF configuration, containing 18 lbs of DEXSORB granules, to provide a system EBCT of 1.4 minutes. Backwash capabilities are incorporated into the vessel. The system is projected to remove EPA6 PFAS for a capacity of 6,240 gallons at the 3-gpm flow rate. This translates to 52 weeks of operation at the peak flow rate of 120 gallons per week (to be confirmed) before media changeout is needed.
Extractor waste water does not provide the needed 15 psi pressure to support the DEXSORB system operation a Circul-Air’s Trough system will be required if this solution is not already resolved.
